Senior Technician/ Workshop Manager Required

  • Established independent garage group that specialises in Gearboxes and Transmissions
  • Circa £50k Basic Salary
  • Company Profit Share Bonus (After Passing Probationary Period)
  • Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm - No Weekends
Monday Matters Recruitment is proud to be working with a successful independent garage group that’s expanding its footprint across the South of England. Following the opening of their brand-new site in Essex, they’re now seeking an experienced Senior Technician/ Workshop Manager to take the lead on-site and help establish the workshop as a local go-to for anything gearbox and transmission related. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, family-feel business where quality workmanship, customer care, and pride in your craft truly matter.
 
The Role
As the Senior Technician/ Workshop Manager, you’ll be the hands-on lead in a small but busy workshop, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding gearboxes and driveline systems. You’ll share opening and closing duties, oversee day-to-day workflow, and ensure every job is completed on time and to the highest standard.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair gearbox/ transmission issues with accuracy and accountability
  • Build and rebuild gearboxes to manufacturer standards
  • Lead the workshop team and manage daily operations
  • Ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to high-quality standards
  • Liaise with Head Office to manage workflow and scheduling
  • Handle customer queries and complaints with professionalism when needed
About You:
  • Proven experience as a Senior Technician or Workshop Manager
  • Strong technical knowledge of the gearbox/ transmissions
  • Confident in diagnostics
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Hands-on, motivated, and reliable
  • Customer-focused with a proactive attitude
