Automotive Recruiting Director
About the Role
- Buyer & Stock Controller – Performance & Prestige Cars
- Berkshire
- £40,000 – £50,000 per year + Commission
- 5 Day Working Week
- Join an established, growing performance car dealership and play a key role in its next phase of success.
A well-respected dealership based in Berkshire is entering an exciting growth phase, with plans to significantly increase sales volume and profitability. We are now seeking an experienced Buyer & Stock Controller to take ownership of vehicle sourcing and stock management across a range of performance and prestige vehicles.
This is not a high-volume, transactional buying role. The business is built on long-term relationships, trust, and genuine expertise — both with customers and suppliers — and is looking for someone who operates with the same mindset.
With a strong existing customer base, significant stock investment, and full operational support, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities

Source and secure high-quality vehicles through auctions, direct purchases, part-exchange, and Sale-or-Return opportunities
-
Identify and develop new sourcing channels
-
Accurately appraise vehicles, considering condition, provenance, preparation costs, and margin
-
Manage stock intake and logistics, including organising collections and coordinating preparation
-
Ensure all vehicles are retail-ready efficiently to minimise time-to-market
-
Maintain complete and accurate vehicle documentation, including keys, history, and files
-
Work closely with sales, workshop, and external suppliers
-
Support a structured and commercially sound pricing strategy
-
Help manage the full lifecycle of stock from acquisition to sale
About You
-
Proven experience in vehicle buying, stock control, or a similar automotive role is essential
-
Strong commercial awareness and confident decision-making ability
-
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
-
Calm, professional, and reliable in your approach
-
Strong communication skills and ability to build lasting relationships
-
Genuine interest in performance and prestige vehicles
What’s on Offer
-
£40,000 – £50,000 basic salary + commission
-
5 day working week
-
Opportunity to work with exciting, high-value performance vehicles
-
Established and loyal customer base
-
Supportive team environment with experienced management
-
Long-term career progression within a growing business
