Prestige Independent Car Dealership Based in Orpington, Kent £35k Per Annum Hours Monday to Friday 8AM - 5.30PM Monday Matters Recruitment is working with a prestigious automotive dealership in Orpington to recruit an organised and proactive Health & Safety Coordinator to support the business in maintaining a safe, compliant and well-managed working environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with Health & Safety experience who enjoys working with people across different departments and ensuring that high standards of safety and compliance are maintained. The Role As Health & Safety Coordinator, you will take responsibility for supporting and coordinating health and safety procedures across the dealership, working closely with management and departmental teams. Your responsibilities will include: Coordinating day-to-day Health & Safety activities across the dealership. Ensuring compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and company policies. Carrying out regular workplace inspections and risk assessments. Maintaining Health & Safety records, documentation and compliance reports. Monitoring accident, incident and near-miss reporting, ensuring appropriate follow-up action. Supporting fire safety procedures, emergency planning and evacuation arrangements. Identifying potential workplace hazards and recommending improvements. Organising and monitoring staff Health & Safety training. Ensuring workshop, service, parts, showroom and office environments maintain appropriate safety standards. Liaising with managers and employees to promote a positive Health & Safety culture. Supporting external audits and ensuring any actions are completed within agreed timescales. The Ideal Candidate: Previous experience in a Health & Safety Coordinator or similar role. Good working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practice. Experience carrying out risk assessments and workplace inspections. Strong organisational and administration skills. Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work with employees at all levels. A proactive approach with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions. NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications would be advantageous. Experience within the automotive, motor trade, dealership, workshop or engineering environment would be beneficial. What's on Offer? The Role You will take ownership of the sourcing process from initial research and supplier engagement through to purchase, logistics and final delivery. One day you could be sourcing a high-performance vehicle from Germany, the next a luxury watch from the US or another high-value product from an international market. You will be responsible for finding the right product, at the right price, in the right market — while ensuring all associated costs remain commercially viable. Key Responsibilities Source prestige, performance and luxury vehicles from international markets. Source luxury watches and other high-value and premium goods from suppliers across the globe. Research live market values across multiple countries to identify the most commercially attractive sourcing opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, brokers, suppliers, auction houses, shipping agents and logistics partners. Negotiate purchase prices and commercial terms to secure the best possible deals. Assess vehicle and product values, condition, provenance and market demand. Manage the full process from purchase through to inspection, preparation, insured transportation and delivery. Coordinate international shipping and logistics for high-value goods. Understand and manage import and export requirements, customs processes, duties, taxes and territory restrictions. Factor exchange rates and international costs into every sourcing decision. Maintain accurate records of sourcing decisions, costs, suppliers and deliveries. Monitor market movements, depreciation, availability and changes in product values. Ensure all purchases remain within agreed budgets and provide strong commercial value. Resolve any issues that arise during the sourcing, shipping or delivery process. About You We are looking for someone who is commercially sharp, highly organised and naturally curious, with the ability to find opportunities in markets that others may overlook. You may have experience within vehicle sourcing or trading, luxury goods buying, international logistics, freight forwarding, import/export, procurement or a similar environment. You'll ideally have: Experience sourcing or purchasing vehicles, luxury goods or other high-value products. Strong negotiation skills and a natural ability to identify value. A good understanding of international markets and pricing. Experience working across different currencies and understanding exchange-rate implications. Knowledge of international shipping, customs, duties and taxes, or the ability to learn quickly. Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills. The ability to manage multiple sourcing and delivery projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers and partners internationally. A proactive, commercially focused approach to problem-solving. The ability to remain calm when dealing with complex or time-sensitive situations. A high level of integrity, discretion and professionalism when handling high-value assets.
