The Role
We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our team. You will be the key point of contact for customers, ensuring a smooth and professional service experience from booking through to vehicle collection.
Key Responsibilities

Greet customers and manage service/repair bookings

Accurately record vehicle issues and communicate with the workshop team

Provide clear updates and advice to customers throughout the repair process

Prepare estimates, invoices, and explain work carried out

Upsell additional services where appropriate

Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
What We’re Looking For

Previous experience as a Service Advisor in the automotive industry

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Confident using garage management systems and basic IT tools

Workshop Controller – HGV / LCV Dealership
Location: Reading
Salary: £43,000 – £45,000 Basic + Bonus (OTE £50,000)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Saturday mornings: 1 in 4 rota
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop Controller to join a busy and well-established HGV dealership operation based in Reading.
This is a key role within the business, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the workshop, ensuring productivity, quality, and efficiency while delivering a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Control and coordinate daily workshop operations
Allocate and prioritise work to technicians
Monitor workflow, productivity, and vehicle turnaround times
Ensure all servicing and repairs meet manufacturer and company standards
Liaise with Service Advisors, Parts Department, and Management
Manage labour efficiency and workshop performance
Maintain health and safety and compliance standards
Provide technical support and guidance to technicians
Requirements
Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Workshop Supervisor, or Senior Technician / Foreman
Strong technical knowledge of HGV's (HGV experience advantageous)
Proven ability to manage workload in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
Strong communication and IT skills
Full UK Driving Licence (essential)

£43,000 – £45,000 basic salary
Bonus scheme with OTE circa £50,000
