Monday Matters Recruitment is working with a well-established independent garage in Ashford, Kent, who are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Vehicle Technician to join their busy and friendly workshop. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who takes pride in their work, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to continue developing their technical knowledge within an independent environment.
The Role
As a Senior Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of mechanical and diagnostic duties, including:
General servicing and mechanical repairs
MOT repairs and safety inspection repairs
Carrying out safety inspections and vehicle health checks
Basic diagnostics and fault finding
Diagnosing noise-related faults
Diagnosing cooling system and lubrication system issues (including leaks)
Wheel alignments
Timing belts and timing chains
Engine repairs
Clutch replacements, including DSG clutches
Using manufacturer data and diagnostic tools (training available where required)
Working accurately with manufacturer specifications, including tightening torques
About You
The successful candidate will:
Be an experienced Senior or strong Vehicle Technician
Be confident working independently and as part of a team
Be comfortable using manufacturer data and diagnostic equipment
Have a methodical approach to diagnostics and repairs
Be keen to attend training courses and learn new vehicle technologies
Take pride in high-quality workmanship and workshop standards

Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.

This is a varied role, offering outstanding earning potential, manufacturer training, and a long-term career path with a business that puts people first.
The Role:
Carry out diagnostics, complex repairs, servicing, and routine maintenance on customer vehicles
Attend diagnostic appointments and complete repairs in line with manufacturer standards
Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment
Participate in ongoing brand-specific training and development
What’s on Offer:
Basic Salary: Up to £47,000 (DOE)
£3,000 Split Shift Allowance
Productivity Bonus: Up to £6,000 per year (paid monthly)
Realistic OTE: £74,574 per annum
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x (weekends and out-of-hours)
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm and 2:00pm–10:30pm
Optional Roadside Technician Rota available for additional earnings
