Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Saturday mornings: 1 in 4 rota
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop Controller to join a busy and well-established HGV dealership operation based in Reading.
This is a key role within the business, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the workshop, ensuring productivity, quality, and efficiency while delivering a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Control and coordinate daily workshop operations
Allocate and prioritise work to technicians
Monitor workflow, productivity, and vehicle turnaround times
Ensure all servicing and repairs meet manufacturer and company standards
Liaise with Service Advisors, Parts Department, and Management
Manage labour efficiency and workshop performance
Maintain health and safety and compliance standards
Provide technical support and guidance to technicians
Requirements
Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Workshop Supervisor, or Senior Technician / Foreman
Strong technical knowledge of HGV's (HGV experience advantageous)
Proven ability to manage workload in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
Strong communication and IT skills
Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
